A US aircraft carrier caught fire in the Red Sea: 30 hours of fire...

In the Red Sea, a massive fire broke out on March 12 on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford. According to The New York Times, the fire started from the ventilation hole of the dryer in the laundry, as reported by the ship's crew, and soon spread to the entire aircraft carrier.

The sailors tried to extinguish the fire for more than twenty-four hours. As a result of the incident, the beds and personal belongings of more than 600 crew members were destroyed, so most crew members were forced to sleep on the floor or on the table.

Two people were seriously injured while extinguishing the fire, dozens more sailors were poisoned by carbon monoxide, but the lives of all the injured are not in danger. The USS Gerald R. Ford has about 4,500 sailors and deck aviation pilots on board.

Representatives of the Iranian military command "Khatam al-Anbiya" suggested that part of the US crew may have acted deliberately as the cause of the fire. The headquarters representative stated that the incident occurred due to the crew's fear of participating in combat operations.

This situation once again showed that the US Navy should pay attention to matters of ship safety and internal order.
