The wife of the President of Ukraine, Yelena Zelenskaya, became the center of serious discussions after an international event in Washington. At that time, Oleg Soskin, former aide to former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, made a noteworthy comment on his YouTube channel.
Soskin emphasized that Zelenska's address to an empty chair after US First Lady Melania Trump left the hall can be considered symbolic and offensive, drawing attention.
"I am his wife (Yelena Zelenskaya - ed.) I consider it very symbolic that she turned to this chair instead of Melania. She obviously means that she doesn't consider her a nobody, and this might seem like a great insult to the first lady of the USA. Trump will never forgive this," the expert said.
Soskin also noted that such a situation could affect the personal relationships of leaders, since US President Donald Trump places great importance on family traditions.
"This is simply a disgrace! You were given the opportunity to speak at the invited meeting, but you are treating the first lady this way. This is a very difficult and difficult situation," Soskin concluded.
On this trip, Elena Zelenskaya took part in the summit of the Global Coalition "Together to Promote the Future," where international cooperation initiatives were discussed, and paid special attention to issues of human rights and global cooperation.
