Iran demands compensation from five Arab countries through the United Nations

The Iranian side has officially appealed to the United Nations and put forward a demand for compensation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan for their “participation in the US–Israel military conflict against Iran.” This was stated by Iran’s permanent representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani.

According to him, these five countries violated their international obligations and therefore must fully compensate Iran for all damages caused. It was noted that the compensation should include not only material losses but also moral and economic damages.

The diplomat stated that the amount of compensation has not yet been determined. According to him, calculations are ongoing, and final figures will be announced later.

Earlier, in March, Iran’s representative to the UN sent a letter to the Secretary-General António Guterres, in which he accused several Middle Eastern countries of allowing their territories to be used for US actions against Iran.

According to Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani, preliminary estimates suggest that the total damage from US and Israeli strikes could reach 270 billion dollars. These are still initial and approximate calculations.

Experts plan first to assess the damage to infrastructure and buildings, then evaluate the loss of state revenues and the consequences of industrial shutdowns.

It is also reported that the Iranian side is discussing the issue of possible war compensation with the United States. These talks were raised, in particular, during meetings held last week in Islamabad.

According to international media, including The Jerusalem Post, the six-week conflict may have caused economic damage to Iran amounting to 140–145 billion dollars.
