The death of 191 seals on the Caspian coast remains a mystery

Another ecological catastrophe was recorded on the shores of the Caspian Sea. A total of 191 dead seals were found in the Tupkaragan district of the Mangistau region. This situation has caused serious concern in the region and attracted the attention of ecologists and experts. This was reported by the regional information portal Lada.kz.
According to official reports, preliminary hypotheses link the cause of death to the strong winds observed in recent days. In particular, due to the wind blowing from the northwest, the seals could have landed on the shore and died, unable to adapt to the natural conditions.
The head of the fisheries inspection of the Mangistau region, Konarbay Bozorboyev, commented on this situation and noted that the causes of the incident are still being fully investigated.
Currently, large-scale inspection work has been initiated by the responsible organizations. Specialists from the Department of Ecology are taking water and soil samples from the area to analyze potential environmental changes.
Scientists from the Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecology are also involved in scientific research. They are trying to determine the cause of death by examining the internal organs, teeth, and other biological samples of the seals.
According to experts, such mass deaths could be linked not only to weather factors but also to water pollution, food chain problems, or diseases.
A final conclusion on the exact causes of the incident has not yet been issued. The results of the investigation are expected to be announced in the coming days.
