Volkswagen to produce its own car in Uzbekistan

Volkswagen to produce its own car in Uzbekistan
The famous German car brand Volkswagen will soon begin production of cars in Uzbekistan. Martin Sander, the company's head of sales and marketing, announced this personally on his LinkedIn page.

The new project will be implemented in partnership with UzAuto and Alyans Auto. This enterprise previously operated under the name Jizzakh Auto and is currently the official distributor of the Volkswagen, Škoda and Jetta brands in Uzbekistan.

Production will be carried out in the SKD format - that is, using assembly technology based on large components. This method not only allows for rapid production, but also ensures the introduction of high-quality cars to the market in a short time.

Martin Sander noted that Volkswagen's portfolio includes 8 types of modern and customer-oriented sedans and SUVs. "These are exactly the vehicles that Uzbek consumers are looking for," he said.

The components for the project will be mainly supplied from Volkswagen's production center in China. This, in turn, will help reduce logistics costs and minimize the environmental footprint (carbon footprint).

The mass assembly of cars is planned to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. This new stage in the Uzbek automobile market is expected to not only increase competition, but also open up new opportunities for buyers.
