In Uzbekistan, the procedure for vehicle inspection has been simplified. These changes are stated in the Presidential decree “On measures to create additional conveniences for the population in the use of vehicles.”
According to the decree, light vehicles that are less than 10 years old may undergo technical inspection voluntarily. That is, the car owner may choose to have it inspected or not.
However, if the car is older than 11 years, its technical condition is subject to mandatory control. In this case, the inspection schedule is as follows:
-
Vehicles from 11 to 14 years — once every 2 years
-
Vehicles 15 years and older — once a year
This rule applies only to private light vehicles owned by individuals. Vehicles used for commercial purposes, such as passenger transport, are excluded and subject to a separate procedure.
This new regulation provides convenience for car owners. As a result, bureaucratic obstacles are reduced, and the service system is made simpler. Experts also remind that regular inspection is crucial for the driver's own safety.
