Separate license plates will be introduced for antique cars

The government of Uzbekistan has announced a draft resolution aimed at further improving and reliably ensuring road safety. The project includes amendments and additions aimed at further strengthening the safety of road users, starting from 2026.

In accordance with the resolution, specific procedures will be introduced from January 1, 2026. In particular, freight and special vehicles operating in open-pit mines are subject to state registration. Also, a separate state registration number plate will be introduced for trucks of categories N3 and O4 with a total weight of more than 44 tons and antique cars.

Another important innovation of the resolution is that the review-competition "The Region with the Most Exemplary Road Safety Provision" will be held annually in March. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance will work together on this inspection.

Thus, the new decisions are aimed at improving road safety, regulating public transport, and ensuring traffic efficiency. These steps aimed at further strengthening road safety in Uzbekistan will help create more comfortable and safe conditions for the public.
