Chevrolet Tahoe and Damas production started in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan’s Tulpar Motors has officially launched the production of the Chevrolet Tahoe premium SUV and the Damas commercial vehicle, expanding its domestic assembly lineup to six models. The plant, which has already seen strong market success with the Cobalt and Tracker, aims to produce at least 3,000 units this year and reach a production value of 5 billion som by the end of 2025. To support this growth, the company is offering low-interest auto loans as low as 4% for civil servants and plans to establish a nationwide network of ten service centers by 2026. U.S. Ambassador Leslie Viguerie highlighted the partnership as a significant boost to bilateral trade, as the facility prepares to introduce further models including the Suburban and Traverse.
The production of the Chevrolet Tahoe premium SUV and the Chevrolet Damas commercial vehicle has been launched in Kyrgyzstan. The Tahoe model, featuring a 6.2-liter eight-cylinder engine with 420 horsepower, has become the sixth vehicle model to be assembled at the «Tulpar Motors» plant. In less than two years since its launch, the enterprise has successfully mastered the production of models such as the Cobalt, Onix, Tracker, and Captiva. Kaktus.media reports on this development.
The «Tulpar Motors» plant has initiated a new era in the country's automotive industry. Last year alone, the enterprise sold 1,680 vehicles. The Chevrolet Cobalt was recognized as the best-selling car in the national market, while the Chevrolet Tracker was named the most popular crossover. By the end of 2025, production volume is expected to reach 5 billion som, with plans to assemble at least 3,000 vehicles during the current year.
Konstantin Shvedchikov, the company's managing director, noted that the plant was built from the ground up, with all logistics and service systems established. By 2026, the opening of ten sales outlets and regional service centers across the republic is envisioned. Additionally, auto loans are being offered to citizens at an annual rate of 8 percent, and to civil servants at a rate of 4 percent.
The U.S. Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Leslie Viguerie, noted that this cooperation will strengthen trade relations between the two countries and contribute to economic growth. «Tulpar Motors» aims to further expand its model lineup in the near future by launching the production of vehicles such as the Suburban, Traverse, and Captiva PHEV.
