In our time, any rumour or false news spread through social networks quickly propagates and can damage an artist’s name and reputation. Munisa Rizaeva also became a victim of such incorrect talk.
Munisa recorded a video message and answered the rumours on the internet that she was “running after Jennifer Lopez” and “begging, reaching out”. First of all, she explained the real situation, expressing hurt at all these questions. According to her, the organisers asked her to participate in advertising in order to attract enough fans to the world‑scale concert taking place in Uzbekistan. Responding to rumours that she “wanted to advertise herself with the world star Jennifer Lopez”, Munisa said: “The most ridiculous thing that hurt me was as if I was running after her and she doesn’t value me. Actually, they asked me for help to mobilise the Uzbek people.”
Munisa emphasised to her young fans and intellectuals supporting her work that she does not treat her reputation modestly. “I don’t run after PR, I am a star who believes in her own strength and talent,” she says. Behind these words lie her love for the country and respect for artists. According to her, she later deleted the promotional video because of the rumours that arose. “I helped to uplift the people of Uzbekistan and my homeland. But after some unpleasant and unfair words, I deleted my video,” said Munisa.
Situations like this with Munisa Rizaeva are also a lesson for young artists. She asked young people not to believe any statements circulating on social networks, but to rely on official sources and learn the truth. “I don’t need such PR. My creativity, talent and hard work are advertisement for me,” she says confidently.
Through her appeal, the conclusion is that artists need the support of the people, but not through spreading any unfounded talk about their lives. Rather than being offended by rumours and answering immediately, it is important to be prudent and patient in such situations.
