Singer Psy, who gained worldwide fame with the song “Gangnam Style,” is currently under investigation. He is suspected of illegally obtaining prohibited drugs, Yonhap news agency reported.
According to the information, since 2022 the artist has been purchasing medications to reduce insomnia and anxiety not through official procedures but in an illegal way. It is stated that the singer did not personally consult with a specialist, but regularly obtained medicines from private clinics in Seoul.
The singer’s representatives admitted that he suffers from insomnia and nervousness, and confirmed that he had taken the medications. According to them, Psy had an agreement with a doctor, but no prescription was issued. In some cases, it was emphasized that third parties obtained the medicines on behalf of the artist.
Seoul police detained the singer and his doctor. The doctor, however, denied the accusations against him, stating that all consultations were conducted online.
