One-minute series are surpassing Netflix

A new trend in the streaming world — 60-second short series are increasingly attracting viewers. According to Pravilamag, Netflix, HBO Max, and Paramount+ users are massively switching to platforms that offer such mini-series.

Experts emphasize that the main advantage of the new format is the fast development of events and unexpected dramatic twists. Such content is mainly created inspired by the experience of popular bloggers. Another convenience of mini-series is that they are broadcast in vertical style and can be easily watched on smartphones.

In addition, in terms of price, they are much cheaper for users. Usually, access to such applications costs around 20 dollars. For comparison, Netflix’s ad-free subscription is almost 18 dollars per month. Many people, however, watch short-form content even for free on social networks, saving even more.

According to 34-year-old Canadian Elin Firob, she watches about 30 mini-series per month. This is equivalent to one 90-minute episode of a regular series. Interestingly, she made this choice not to save money, but because she prefers short and “vertical” format content. Currently, she spends about 200 dollars per month on short series.
