The granddaughter of Uzbekistan’s first president Islam Karimov, Maryam Tillyayeva, shared on her Instagram page that due to a strong storm she was separated from her partner Arno, reports Upl.uz.
It has become known that due to the strong storm Maryam was left on one side of the island, while Arno was stranded on the other.
The couple wanted to meet, but because of the storm all flights were canceled and the airport was temporarily closed.
According to Maryam, they couldn’t contact each other for four hours:
“I was very worried, but then Arno contacted me and said everything was fine,” she wrote in her post.
Fortunately, the incident ended peacefully—they are now together again.
