Perugino's Madonna with a Child sold for $900,000 at auction

The painting "Madonna with a Child" was sold for almost 900 thousand dollars. The work of Italian master Pietro Perugino was purchased by a private collector at the JS Fine Arts auction in England. This was reported by Pravilamag.

The previous owner bought the painting several years ago and was unaware of its high value. For a long time, the canvas stood in his garage. This Umbrian pearl aroused great interest among collectors after it was listed in the lot catalog as the "Ancient Master of Italy."

The buyer became a private collector who won the auction after a 15-minute betting competition. It surpassed its competitors who offered high prices online, by phone, and at the Banbury auction hall.
