According to the National Statistics Committee, as of September 1, 2025, the number of enterprises and organizations operating in Uzbekistan amounted to 465.6 thousand.
Of these, 395.6 thousand, or 85 percent, are small enterprises and microfirms. This indicator once again confirms the significant role of small business in the country's economy.
The distribution of enterprises and organizations by types of economic activity is as follows:
- in trade - 32.5 percent,
- in industry - 12.7 percent,
- in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 7.4 percent,
- in the construction sector - 6.4 percent,
- in accommodation and food services - 6.3 percent,
- in transportation and storage - 3.6 percent,
- in healthcare and social services - 2.8 percent,
- in information and communication - 2.4 percent,
- in other areas - 25.9 percent.
Thus, the trade sector remains the leader, while industry takes second place.
