In January-August 2025, food products worth a total of 86.5 trillion soums were produced in Uzbekistan, the National Statistics Committee reported.
This figure is 14.6% more than in the same period of 2024. This testifies to the consistent development of the food industry in our country. The growth of domestic consumer demand and export potential has a positive impact on the volume of production in the regions.
In the context of regions, the following picture was observed. The capital, the city of Tashkent, produced goods worth 15.3 trillion soums, leading among all regions. Tashkent and Samarkand regions are in the next places - both produced goods worth 11.7 trillion soums.
Products worth 6.6 trillion soums were produced in Bukhara region, and 6.2 trillion soums in Fergana and Kashkadarya regions. Also, production worth 5 trillion soums was recorded in Andijan region, 4.7 trillion soums in Namangan, and 4.3 trillion soums in Navoi.
Products worth 3.9 trillion soums were produced in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 3.5 trillion soums in the Khorezm region, 3.2 trillion soums in the Syrdarya region, and 2 trillion soums in the Jizzakh region. The lowest production is in Surkhandarya region - only 1.9 trillion soums worth of food products were produced in this region.
These figures show how much the demand for food products and production capabilities differ in different regions of Uzbekistan. The city of Tashkent and its regions are ahead of other regions in terms of infrastructure, logistical capabilities, and inflow of investments.
