According to the latest data published by the National Statistics Committee, the average per capita income of the population of Uzbekistan for January-September 2025 amounted to 21.8 million soums. This indicator increased by 16.1% compared to the same period last year, while the real growth rate was 6.3%.
However, a large disparity remains across regions. The highest result was traditionally recorded in Tashkent - the average annual income of each citizen in the capital was 52 million soums. This is almost 2.4 times higher than the national average. The main reason for this is the large share of the service sector, high wages, and a large number of additional sources of income.
In second place is Navoi region - 32.1 million soums. The high indicators in this region are ensured by the strength of the industrial and raw material base, the activities of large enterprises, and the export of mineral resources. The third place belongs to Bukhara - the average per capita income here is 26 million soums, which is 19% higher than the national average.
Tashkent region is slightly above the general average with 21.9 million soums. In Fergana, Samarkand, and Syrdarya regions, the indicators are in the range of 17-19 million.
The lowest results were observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (14.8 million soums), Namangan (15.8 million) and Surkhandarya (16.5 million) regions. So, the difference between the capital and Karakalpakstan is 37.2 million soums - this is a huge imbalance.
According to economists, the main reasons for the regional income gap are the difference in the quality of jobs, activity in the real estate and rental markets, migration flows, and the uneven distribution of industrial and logistics projects.
At the same time, although household incomes showed nominal and real growth over the 9-month period, to accelerate the growth rate in remote areas, it is necessary to further intensify the policy of raising wages, creating new jobs, and supporting small businesses.
Analysts note that economic growth in the country is currently concentrated mainly in the capital and major industrial centers. Therefore, in the coming years, ensuring territorial equality is expected to become one of the important directions of state economic policy.
