Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan trade volume reached $4 billion - cooperation is at a new stage

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Kassym Jomart Tokayev held talks in a narrow format at the Kuksaroy residence, the presidential press service reported.

During the meeting, it was noted that a new stage is beginning in the history of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance. It was noted with satisfaction that within the framework of the visit, a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, a business forum, cultural events, and "Days of Kazakh Medicine" were held in Tashkent.

Over the past period of the year, the trade turnover between the two countries reached 4 billion dollars. The parties agreed to increase this figure by $10 billion, as well as to increase the number of cargo transportation and flights.

In recent years, 6.5 thousand joint ventures have been created, and projects worth more than 8 billion dollars are being implemented in priority sectors. It was proposed to launch a joint investment platform for these projects.

During the negotiations, issues of deepening cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, chemistry, agriculture, information technology, and ecology were discussed. An agreement was also reached to hold the first Regional Council in Kazakhstan in 2026 in order to expand interregional ties.

The heads of state also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
