Moody's: US banks expect transition to digital financial system

Moody's: AQSH banklari raqamli moliya tizimiga o'tishni kutmoqda

According to a report by Moody’s Ratings, major US banks and financial market intermediaries expect the transition to a digital financial system to be slow at first, but to accelerate sharply thereafter. Experts consider the increase in tokenization volume and its expansion across various assets and market participants to be inevitable. This is reported by Cointelegraph.com reports .

Although tokenization activity is currently limited primarily to cryptocurrency trading and cross-border payments, traditional financial institutions are actively preparing for these changes. According to RWA.xyz, the real-world asset tokenization market has grown by more than 420 percent since the beginning of 2025 and stands at $31.6 billion.

According to Moody’s analysis, almost all major banks have established dedicated digital asset teams and are participating in industry projects to test new infrastructure. For example, Morgan Stanley recently launched its crypto division and announced plans to introduce cryptocurrency funds and wallets.

The agency proposes three scenarios for the future of the financial system. In the base case, tokenization grows steadily, and banks and asset managers retain their central roles. However, if regulatory hurdles and low demand persist, the development of the digital financial system could remain limited.
