Upon arrival in the city of Khujand, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

Within the framework of the implementation of high-level agreements, urgent issues of further development of bilateral friendship, strategic partnership and allied relations were discussed.

At the beginning of the conversation, the heads of state sincerely congratulated each other and our fraternal peoples on the blessed Eid al-Fitr.

It was noted with great satisfaction that multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan has reached a high level.

In 2024, the volume of trade turnover exceeded $700 million. Cooperation projects are being successfully implemented in industry, energy, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture and other priority areas. Effective interregional relations and active cultural-humanitarian exchange have been established.

It was noted that it is important to develop measures to accelerate joint projects on practical cooperation at the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
