In Jizzakh, a citizen who cut down trees was sentenced to prison.

A new case of environmental violation has been registered in the Jizzakh region. According to reports, 10 perennial trees were illegally cut down in the Pakhtakor district. As a result of an operational investigation, it was established that this case was carried out by a person born in 1976.

Most surprisingly, at the time of committing this crime, the perpetrator was serving a sentence imposed for previous acts. During the trial, he confessed to his actions and tried to justify his actions at that time under the pretext of "for his own needs." However, the court did not accept his explanations.

The Pakhtakor District Criminal Court thoroughly reviewed the case and found the defendant guilty of the act provided for in part 2 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. According to the court verdict, the citizen was sentenced to 2 years and 2 months of imprisonment.

In addition, in accordance with the court decision, it was determined that 253 million 300 thousand soums of material damage will be recovered from the guilty party in favor of the Jizzakh Regional Department of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.
