While strict measures are being taken against corruption in government structures, employees of the department who received large bribes were detained in the Tashkent region. This was announced in an official statement from the State Security Service.
It was established that the head of the Gulistan district department of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office and a senior operative of the Bekabad city department were caught red-handed while receiving $25,000. The operational event was held in the city of Bekabad.
They promised the citizen a "positive resolution" of the criminal case under Article 184, Part 3 of the Criminal Code, which is being considered in the Zangiata District Court. In addition, he promised to declare "illegal" the desk tax audits conducted by the Tax Department of Syrdarya region in relation to 2 LLCs.
According to the evidence established before the investigation, these two employees had previously received a bribe of $108,000 from the same person.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168, Part 4, Clause "a" (fraud) and Article 28, Part 3, Clause "a" (attempted bribery) of the Criminal Code. The court decided to apply "detention" as a preventive measure against them.
