In the city of Samarkand, a driver’s drowsiness caused a road accident involving a Cobalt vehicle, the regional Department of Internal Affairs’ Traffic Safety Directorate reported.
According to the information, on November 2, a Cobalt driver traveling along Shohizinda Street in the Afrosiyob neighborhood fell asleep at the wheel. As a result, he lost control of the car and crashed into a metal barrier installed on the roadside.
The impact caused the car to cross into the opposite lane and collide with an oncoming bus.
As a result of the incident, the driver sustained injuries and was hospitalized. There were no passengers on the bus, so no one else was injured. Both vehicles sustained material damage.
An initial investigation into the incident is underway. Experts urge drivers not to drive when fatigued or sleepy.
