The extortionist, who introduced himself as a police officer, was detained

In the Navoi region, a person who introduced himself as an internal affairs officer and blackmailed a woman with his personal videos was detained. This was reported by the head of the information service of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Navoi region, Fayoz Kasimov.

According to the information, 25-year-old R.J., a resident of Surkhandarya region, met a woman from Navoi F.T. through social networks and had an affair with her. R.J., who quickly gained the woman's trust, possessed her half-naked photos and videos.

After some time, due to a mutual disagreement, R.J. pretended to be an internal affairs officer and began to intimidate the woman by sharing her personal photos and videos on social networks. He engaged in extortion by demanding money.

"At first, I borrowed money from relatives and started lending them money. But he asked again every other day and continued the blackmail. In the end, I was forced to appeal to the internal affairs bodies," the victim F.T. said during the investigation.

Employees of the Main Department of Personal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the criminal investigation service of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Navoi region organized an operational event and detained a person suspected of extortion.

The detainee R.J. fully admitted his guilt:

"I thought no one would know about my actions. Now I deeply regret what I did," he said in the inquiry.

Currently, an investigation is underway under Article 165 (extortion) of the Criminal Code.
