Law enforcement officers detained a courier who brought a large amount of prohibited substances, the press service of the Supreme Court reported. According to the information, during the incident that occurred in the Yakkasaray district, a citizen of a neighboring country was detained while handing over the secret cargo he had brought.
According to the details, the 24-year-old man intended to illegally bring into the country nearly 1 kilogram of narcotic substance delivered from Germany. Law enforcement agencies had been monitoring his actions in advance and detained him during the handover.
The court found him guilty under Criminal Code articles related to smuggling and the circulation of narcotic substances, and sentenced him to 13 years of imprisonment.
State authorities emphasize that such cases pose a serious threat to the country’s security and call on the population to remain cautious.
