A video depicting a gas flame in Boysun district, Surkhandarya region, sparked discussion on social media. Among the population, this situation was interpreted as a "gas leak" or an emergency explosion.

However, the Ministry of Energy issued an official statement on the situation. It is noted that this is the result of a geological process observed a week ago at well No. 202 of the "M-25" field, which is associated with the temporary extinguishing and re-ignition of a previously lit fire.

Experts assess this process as a controlled natural geological phenomenon. The Ministry of Energy emphasized that such a fire is a method used in international practice to prevent the release of harmful substances into the air and the environment.

"Currently, the situation at the M-25 mine is stable. All work is under the supervision of specialists. This method fully meets industrial safety requirements," the official statement said.
