Today, on December 6, a tragic incident occurred in the Kagan district of the Bukhara region. A powerful explosion took place at a workshop belonging to “Shahms LTD”, where explosive materials for mining enterprises are produced. Unfortunately, 4 workers died as a result. This was officially reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to officials, the explosion happened at around 09:40 at the production site located in the “Mustaqillik” Mahalla. Since 2019, “Shahms LTD” has been supplying explosive materials used for the development of new deposits in Central Asia and Uzbekistan.
After the explosion, the fire spread rapidly, but it was completely extinguished at 10:27 by seven rescue units of the Bukhara regional emergency department. At the time of the incident, 30 employees were in the warehouse, and four of them died at the scene. Another 4 workers with minor injuries were taken to the hospital; two of them received outpatient medical care and were allowed to go home.
By the instruction of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a government commission has been established. It is headed by the Chairman of the Industrial Safety Committee, Abduvakkos Rafikov. The commission is tasked with providing necessary assistance to the victims, eliminating the consequences of the explosion, determining the causes of this tragic event, and taking measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
It is reported that the area where the fire occurred has been completely taken under control, and work to eliminate the consequences is ongoing. Officials state that the situation is under strict supervision.
