According to the circulated information, this incident was uncovered with the participation of State Security Service officers, and we are talking about an attempt to use official authority for personal gain.
It was reported that a senior operative of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Shaykhantakhur District Department of Internal Affairs colluded with a senior operative of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs. It is said that they demanded $2,200 in exchange for not holding the suspect criminally liable within the framework of the pre-investigation documentation related to the case of a citizen born in 1982 - the discovery of 3 grams of "hashish" near him.
According to the report, an operative in the Shaykhantakhur district received $1,000 of this money in advance. He was subsequently apprehended while receiving the remaining $1,200 in his office. During the operation, his accomplice - a senior operative of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs Criminal Investigation Department - was also detained.
In connection with the situation, the Tashkent city prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case against both individuals under Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, that is, a clause related to receiving a bribe. It was also reported that a preventive measure of "detention" was applied to them, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
In short, this situation once again indicates that an uncompromising approach is maintained towards violations within the system. In particular, such cases as attempts to exchange official powers for money are now being assessed even more harshly, both in the eyes of the public and in the legal field.
