In the Tashkent region, a senior inspector of the Department of Educational Work of Correctional Colony No. 13 was detained for demanding two iPhones 17 in exchange for delivering letters to the close relatives of one of the convicts and creating good conditions during the sentence. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The convict filed a complaint with the Main Department of Personal Security regarding the situation. Later, the employee met with the convict's brother at a cafe and said that he could be given $3,500 instead of an iPhone. The money is planned to be received by the employee's classmate. During the operation, a classmate was detained while receiving the requested money.
Also, letters written by the convict were found in the car of the senior inspector. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 168, Part 3 (fraud) and Article 211, Part 1 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and the investigation is ongoing.
