Pensioner fined for feeding cats passes away

In the city of Chirchiq, Tashkent region, a pensioner who was fined for feeding cats has passed away. This was reported by the "Mehr va Oqibat" Animal Protection Society.
According to reports, the woman was held administratively liable for feeding stray cats following complaints from neighbors. It is reported that a fine was also imposed on her grandchild, who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. According to volunteers, the pensioner took the situation very hard.
Lawyers from the organization provided legal assistance to the woman, preparing documents to appeal to the court to cancel the fine. On July 22, one of the volunteers went to her apartment to have the necessary documents signed. However, despite knocking several times, no one opened the door.
Following this, the neighborhood committee chairman and the prevention inspector were called to the scene. Later, when Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel opened the apartment door, the body of the pensioner was found inside.
The cause of the woman's death has not yet been officially announced. Relevant authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
