Shahzod Muzaffarov in the final: 5:0 victory in Yerevan

Uzbek boxers have achieved significant results at the international "Yerevan Mayor Cup" tournament currently being held in Yerevan. Shahzod Muzaffarov convincingly defeated the host representative in the semi-finals, earning the right to fight for the gold medal.

Iqboljon Xoldarov lost by a split decision in an extremely close contest. Now, fans' attention is focused on our two other representatives who will enter the ring tomorrow.

Muzaffarov left his opponent no chance

Competing in the -55 kg weight category, Shahzod Muzaffarov faced Armenian representative Suren Rubinyan in the semi-finals.

The Uzbek boxer took control from the very first minutes of the bout. By maintaining the right distance and landing precise punches with active movement, he left a better impression on the judges.

In the end, all judges recognized Muzaffarov's victory — 5:0.

With this result, Shahzod advanced to the tournament final and will now step into the ring for the "Yerevan Mayor Cup" gold medal.

One vote short for Xoldarov

In the -70 kg weight category, Iqboljon Xoldarov held his semi-final bout against Armenian representative Harutyun Hakobkokhyan.

The fight was even and uncompromising. Both boxers fought actively to reach the final, but the split decision of the judges went in favor of the host athlete — 2:3.

Thus, Iqboljon Xoldarov concluded his "Yerevan Mayor Cup" campaign with a bronze medal.

Two more Uzbek boxers to fight tomorrow

On the next day of the tournament, two more representatives of Uzbekistan will enter the ring.

In the -60 kg weight class, Samandar Olimov will clash with Armenian representative Artur Bazeyan. In the -90 kg category, Torabek Khabibullaev will fight against Iran's Hadi Mohammadnejad.
