According to the famous British promoter Eddie Hearn, the fight between Murodjon Akhmadaliev and Naoya Inoue may take place in September of this year. This is reported by the Professional Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan.
For this, both the Japanese boxer, who is the absolute world champion in the second lightest weight category, and WBA Interim champion Akhmadaliev, will need to win their respective fights at the boxing evening to be held in Las Vegas on the morning of May 4. Inoue will take to the ring against American Ramon Cardenas on the same day. The opponent of our compatriot has not yet been confirmed.
"We have almost completed the negotiations on the Akhmadaliev-Inoue fight. We have reached an agreement to hold the fight in September. Only if we agree will the Inoue-Cardenas fight become the absolute world champion. Because Naoya must fight Akhmadaliev in his next fight. The WBA has imposed this obligation on him. If he runs away from the fight, the WBA will strip him of his championship belt.
We are giving the Japanese boxer a chance in this case as well. We are allowing him to fight Cardenas on the condition that he will enter the ring against Murodzhan in September. We have also reached an agreement with his promoter Honda on this. The Inoue-Akhmadaliev fight will take place in Japan in September. We will officially sign a contract for the fight soon," Hearn was quoted as saying by BoxingScene.
Earlier, Murodzhan's manager Vadim Kornilov said that the Inoue-Akhmadaliev fight is planned to be held on September 14 in the Japanese capital, Tokyo. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
