Xabi Alonso sets condition for Real Madrid — little time left for a decision

There could be a major change at Real Madrid during the summer transfer window. The club is reportedly considering parting ways with current head coach Carlo Ancelotti and bringing in new blood. The main candidate at the moment is Xabi Alonso, who is currently working in Germany.

The 43-year-old specialist sets his terms

According to the well-known Defensa Central publication, Alonso has made it clear to the Real Madrid management that he wants a decision about his future to be made in May. If no agreement is reached by then, he will begin preparations for the next season with Bayer.

In other words, if Real wants Alonso, they must show confidence and make a clear decision. Otherwise, Bayer will retain its head coach.

Reports indicate that Xabi Alonso’s contract with Bayer runs until the summer of 2026. Interestingly, Carlo Ancelotti’s deal with Real Madrid also lasts until the same date.
