Midfielder of the Uzbekistan national team Otabek Shukurov shared his considerations about the camp and the upcoming tournament. According to him, the camp with the national team has started, and the main focus is directed to the CAFA to be held in our country, as well as to the step-by-step preparation for the World Cup.
“We started the camp with the national team. We are preparing for CAFA to be held at our place. The main matter is preparation for the World Cup. I think that such tournaments and the next games will come in handy for us. Every opponent defends the honor of his homeland. We will also act with this goal. From now on we are a team that has reached the WC, we must play accordingly,” said Shukurov. In his opinion, in every bout discipline, the pace of play and accuracy on set pieces must stand in the first place, since already from the group stage the team must meet high demands.
“I consider the opponents teams of a good level. The main thing is that we ourselves prepare well. Then we will reach the WC in a ready state,” continued one of the leaders of the national team. According to him, the staff is paying special attention to microcycles, to the correct distribution of the load balance and to testing game scenarios — this, in turn, increases confidence before important exams.
Shukurov also openly covered the topic of health: “My injury dragged on, and I was treated for a long time. I think I will gradually join team trainings. Everything is left behind. I hope that from now on it will be good.” According to him, the most important factor when returning to the field is to restore the tempo step by step and to further strengthen mutual understanding with teammates.
We remind that Uzbekistan will begin its run at the CAFA tournament on August 30 with a match against Oman. The meeting will start at the “Olimpiya” stadium at 19:30. Therefore, finding the balance of the lineup, implementing rotation thoughtfully and effectiveness in the final phase of the game remain the main tasks for the coaching staff and the players.
