32-year-old UFC champion striker Tom Aspinall has commented on his future plans. According to him, for now he is focused only on victories in the octagon, and the issue of transitioning to boxing is not on the agenda.
"Frankly, I haven't even thought about switching to boxing right now. My main goal is to defeat and clean up all the opponents in my division. Only after that, when I don't have a worthy opponent, can I consider boxing as a potential direction," Aspinall said in an interview with Bloody Elbow.
Aspinall's words aroused great interest among fans. Because in recent years, many UFC stars, including Conor McGregor and Francis Ngannou, have turned to boxing in search of big money and new opportunities. However, the English soldier openly stated that he had not yet included such a path in his plans.
At the same time, the champion's attention is focused on the next fight. On October 25, as part of the UFC 321 tournament in Abu Dhabi, he will enter the octagon against Frenchman Cyril Gan. This bout is noted as one of the most anticipated fights in the heavyweight category.
In addition to defending his belt in this fight, Aspinall aims to once again demonstrate himself as one of the strongest fighters in the world. According to him, the main goal of his current plans is only to strengthen his dominance in the UFC.
