Athletes from Uzbekistan continue to successfully participate in the III Youth Asian Games, which are being held in the capital of Bahrain, Manama. Today's competitions were also full of joyful news for our young and talented athletes.
One of such bright winners is Marjona Abdumutalova, who defends the honor of our country in weightlifting. He amazed everyone once again in his next match.
Marjona participated in the clean and jerk competition in the -58 kg weight category, where she lifted 111 kilograms and managed not only to take first place, but also to set a new record for the Asian Youth Games.
This victory is the athlete's second gold medal in this competition. Earlier, he also showed the highest result in the snatch.
Marjona's result became a source of pride not only for her personal achievement, but also for our entire team. According to the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the athlete came to the competition with serious preparation and fully demonstrated her potential in both programs.
Thanks to this achievement in Bahrain, the delegation of Uzbekistan continues to rise in the overall team standings. To date, our athletes have won dozens of medals, strengthening their leading position in Central Asia.
