Former president of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vyacheslav Koloskov commented on the reports about the possibility of Russian national teams returning to official tournaments. "The most important words here are — the need to check the reaction of other federations.
A good decision was made by FIFA and UEFA. They deserve only gratitude.
The RFU employees should also be recognized, because everything is being done under our pressure," — Koloskov’s words were quoted by "Sovetskiy Sport". According to the plan, the first team to take to the field will be the Russian women's national team.
The women's team is scheduled to take part in the qualification round for the next World Cup. The qualification matches will begin in February 2026.
