Konate Praises Sherki Highly

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté shared his thoughts on his France national team teammate Rayan Cherki. The Lyon player, who transferred to Manchester City, made his debut for the French national team in June.

"I don’t see any difference between Cherki’s game at Manchester City and in the national team. He is an exceptionally talented player, an old-school representative who loves to entertain the audience.

His ability to play with both feet is fantastic. Rayan has grown in many aspects – now everything depends on him.

If he works diligently, he can achieve great success in the world of football," Konaté said in an interview with *Le Parisien*. On Sunday, the French national team will face Azerbaijan in the final round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification stage.
