Russia's national football team head coach Valeri Karpin addressed questions about Igor Diveyev and Maksim Osipenko being the team's main central defenders. "This is not a club," he said.
"Based on their qualities, perhaps they are key players. But in September, they may be in one form, in October in another, and in November, yet in another form," Karpin told "RB Sport."
The coach emphasized that if these players are fully prepared, they will play. However, throughout the year, circumstances change, meaning the national team does not have fixed main defenders.
It should be noted that in November, the Russian national team participated in two BetBoom matches. In these games, the team did not secure any victories: in the first match, Karpin's squad drew 1-1 with Peru, and in the second match, they suffered a 0-2 defeat to the Chilean national team.
