Former Uzbekistan national team striker Jafar Irismetov, commenting on the results achieved for our country at the World Cup draw, expressed hopeful and confident thoughts. According to him, Group K is not as heavy as we imagine and serves as a serious platform for demonstrating the national team's capabilities.
According to Irismetov, Uzbekistan's fans will definitely be at the World Cup. It is not yet known whether he will go, but if the visa issue is resolved positively, he also wants to support the team at the stadium. Despite this, he emphasized that he would support the national team in spirit, even if he had to watch from home.
In his opinion, since the championship has not yet begun, opportunities are open for all teams. It is natural that the opponents are strong, the matches are difficult, but Uzbek football players can play well even against the most difficult opponents. Irismetov recognized this squad as one of the most balanced and strong national teams in recent years. Therefore, he assessed the issue of leaving the group as a completely realistic goal.
At the same time, he did not hide the fact that some problems may arise in the defensive line. However, Irismetov emphasized that the only visible player - Abdukodir Khusanov - could be a key to such pressure. According to him, Husanov will be able to play bravely and decisively even against such a megastar as Cristiano Ronaldo.
It's important to remember that the Uzbekistan national team will face Portugal, Colombia, and the playoff winner in Group K. Despite the fact that the opponents have a lot of experience, specialists like Irismetov are optimistic - and this undoubtedly further heats up the big football atmosphere in the country.
