Former Russian national team football player Dmitry Bulykin commented on Matvey Safonov's prospects of securing the role of first-choice goalkeeper at PSG. Bulykin emphasized that competition is a decisive factor in professional football, and every player has the opportunity to earn a spot in the starting lineup.
According to him, Safonov's situation at the Parisian club is no different from others: everything depends on how effectively the goalkeeper can take advantage of the opportunities given to him. "It all depends on how he makes use of his chances.
So far, things are not bad. If he continues to perform at this level in the upcoming matches, I believe the coaching staff will take a more serious look at who the main goalkeeper should be," Gazeta.ru quotes Bulykin as saying.
For reference, Safonov has appeared in just three matches for PSG this season, conceding two goals. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
