The head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Fabio Cannavaro, speaking about the training camp held in Dubai, noted that this process was of great importance not only for the team, but also for the coaching staff.
The Italian specialist said that before the training camp, he and his staff closely watched the domestic championship matches over the past four months. Who is in what form, who is in what growth, who feels good in what position - everything was at the center of attention. But the biggest achievement of the training camp was the opportunity to see the players not "only from the stands," but directly on the field, in training, in the psyche.
Cannavaro also openly stated that he spoke individually with each player during the training camp. The reason is simple: he considers it important not only to make demands but also to listen to the player's opinion. For a coach, this means systematizing the team, and for players, it means feeling truly confident.
In the conversations, the coach emphasized that we have big goals ahead: both the World Cup and the Asian Cup - both require serious preparation. Therefore, it is necessary to form a habit of "always being ready," and not a mood of "I'm ready now."
Cannavaro also made another important point: every player must feel like a complete part of the national team's draft. Because in football, the situation can change instantly - two or three injuries, a loss of form, or a change of tactical plan... and at the same time, new names appear on the stage. Therefore, the coach wants to instill in the players the idea that "the opportunity to go to the World Cup is not only for the chosen ones - everyone who has prepared themselves has it."
In the end, Cannavaro's conclusion is clear: the Dubai training camp was beneficial for both the players and the coaching staff. The most important thing is to maintain healthy competition, keep everyone awake, and unite the team around one goal before major competitions.
