Guardiola talks title race after Manchester City win

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola shared his thoughts on his team's performance and the title race following their Premier League match against Crystal Palace. The Citizens secured a 3-0 home victory, taking another confident step in the crucial end-of-season battle.
Guardiola praised the win. He noted that Manchester City has now won two consecutive games 3-0, having defeated Brentford and Crystal Palace. The coach emphasized that both opponents are capable of playing high-quality football and are difficult to break down.
“3-0 against Brentford, 3-0 against Crystal Palace. They are very strong. I am satisfied with the result. We are trying to keep our chances alive until the next game. Now we focus on the cup final,” said Guardiola.
The Spanish tactician also touched on Crystal Palace's style of play. He noted that the opponent is dangerous on the counter-attack and from set-pieces, and that breaking down a low block is always complex. Nevertheless, City played with patience to achieve the desired result.
“We played very, very well. I know they are dangerous on the counter and from set-pieces. It is difficult to play against them because they defend in a low block. Despite that, our patience paid off. We played the game exactly as we needed to,” he added.
Guardiola did not hide the fact that Manchester City does not fully control its own destiny in the title race. He stressed that rather than discussing rivals, his team must focus on their own duties. The coach mentioned he has experienced such high-pressure situations many times at Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and in the Premier League.
“We don't want to discuss the games of our title rivals. We just do our job. I have experienced these situations many times in the Premier League, at Barcelona, and at Bayern Munich,” said Guardiola.
In his view, Manchester City must only think about winning their remaining matches. However, that might not be enough to secure the title, as the situation is out of the Citizens' hands for several reasons.
“Of course, we want to have a chance if we win the final round. Unfortunately, it is not in our hands for many reasons. We need to win the remaining games and play much, much better to reach the title,” he told Sky Sports.
In short, Manchester City is still in the title race. Guardiola's team is doing its job: winning, maintaining pressure, and fighting until the final matchday. Now, every game is like a final for the Citizens. In football, destiny can change in a single point, a goal, or a minute — the intrigue is still alive.
