The number of electric vehicle charging stations in Uzbekistan is growing sharply
The number of electric vehicle charging stations in Uzbekistan is growing. As of May 1, 2024, the total number of charging stations in the country reached 1,399. This figure is 2.5 times more than in the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The majority of electric vehicle charging stations, namely 820 (59 percent), are located in the capital Tashkent. Tashkent region is in second place in this indicator, with 154 such stations in the region.

Among the regions, Namangan (70), Samarkand (67) and Jizzakh (50) are the leaders in the number of charging stations. In addition, 43 charging points are operating in Fergana, 39 in Bukhara, 32 in Kashkadarya, 27 in Surkhandarya, 26 in Andijan, 23 in Navoi, 21 in Khorezm, 14 in Karakalpakstan and 13 in Syrdarya.

Currently, the number of electric vehicle owners across the republic has also increased, and the number of users of this service has reached 92 thousand people.

It is worth recalling that, according to the resolution of the government of Uzbekistan adopted in November last year, it is planned to install a total of 21,548 electric vehicle charging stations in the country by 2025. This will allow further improvement of the electric vehicle infrastructure in the country in the future.
