The Danish government has introduced a new bill to restrict the use of social networks by children under 15. The main goal of the new initiative is to protect children from the influence of harmful content and online sales.
According to the government, online platforms will have to cooperate with the state in the implementation of this initiative. If companies refuse this requirement, they can be fined up to 6% of their global total revenue.
According to research, almost 94% of children under 13 in Denmark, and even half of those under 10, have personal accounts on social networks.
According to the government, these measures will serve to protect the younger generation from the dangers of the digital world and preserve their psychological health.
