During an appearance on the show Mostly Human, Altman admitted that this is a known problem. He explained that current voice models are unable to launch timers or track durations in real-time, but confirmed that OpenAI plans to integrate these capabilities into future updates.

In a humorous turn of events, the user who posted the original video asked ChatGPT about Altman's comments; the chatbot insisted it already possessed time-tracking abilities, contradicting its own creator.
