New Microsoft rule cancels forced Windows updates

"Microsoft" corporation announced important changes to the update mechanism of the "Windows 11" operating system. Users will now be able to postpone system updates an unlimited number of times. Under the previous rules, updates could be paused for a maximum of 35 days, but the new system allows this period to be extended repeatedly. Ixbt.com reports this.

According to company employee Aria Hanson, users will be able to select a specific date within 35 days through the new calendar interface. If this time is not enough, after the pause expires, it can be activated again. This feature is designed to prevent the computer from unexpectedly updating, especially during important conferences, exams or trips.

Another important change concerns the computer shutdown and restart menu. Previously, if an update had been downloaded, the system forced the user to install it through commands like "Update and shut down". Now, "Microsoft" promises to bring back the standard shutdown and restart buttons. Also, driver names will clearly indicate which device they belong to (screen, audio, battery).

Company specialists plan to release updates not several times a month, but in grouped form. Although the new rules give users more freedom, developers reminded that regular updates are important for system security and stability.
