ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet noted that despite the acceleration in chip manufacturing, the market will remain supply-constrained for the next five years. This means giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta will not receive all the chips they ordered on time. Google Cloud COO Frances de Souza confirmed that the company's revenue and order backlog are growing rapidly, noting that demand is indeed very high.
Applied Intuition founder Qasar Younis emphasized that the main problem is not silicon chips, but data from the real world. According to him, it is impossible to fully train autonomous systems solely through synthetic simulations, and real-world experience remains crucial.
Regarding energy shortages, Google is considering the possibility of placing data centers in space. Frances de Souza stated that energy resources in space could be more abundant, but technical difficulties with cooling systems remain a challenge. At the same time, Google is striving to increase energy efficiency by integrating its TPU chips and Gemini models.
