VimpelCom (Beeline brand) has released a digital portrait of passengers in honor of the Moscow Metro's birthday. The study is based on anonymized data and reflects how Muscovites use mobile internet in the subway. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

In the first four months of 2026, the average mobile traffic volume in the Moscow Metro reached 3.6 million GB per month. This is 50 percent more than in the same period last year. The highest user activity is observed during morning and evening rush hours.

According to the study, the majority of metro passengers are over 35 years old. The 35–44 age group is the largest (29 percent). Among younger users, the usage rate of iPhone devices is significantly higher: the iOS share among those under 24 is 48 percent.

Regarding traffic distribution, passengers mainly use work and news-related services in the morning, while in the evening they turn to video, streaming, and social networks. On weekends, the share of entertainment content increases.

The highest load traditionally falls on interchange stations. The total traffic volume at such stations can be 2–3 times higher than at regular stations.
