Google limits free storage for new users

Google is changing its cloud storage policy for new accounts. New users may now be limited to just 5 GB of free storage unless they link their account to a phone number. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports .
Previously, all new accounts received a total of 15 GB of free space for Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. Company representatives state that this change is intended to prevent system abuse and ensure that the 15 GB storage limit is granted only once per person.
Experts believe this decision may also be related to rising costs and shortages of storage hardware. Information on Google support pages has been updated to provide clearer explanations regarding the storage capacity offered to users.
It is worth noting that linking a phone number was already standard practice when creating a Google account. However, certain exceptions, such as registering on Android devices without a SIM card, still remain.
