Kash Patel's clothing brand website taken offline after hack

The official website of the Based Apparel brand, owned by Kash Patel, a nominee for FBI director, has been taken offline following reports of a cyberattack. According to Straight Arrow News, the site was compromised to distribute malware to users. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reporting .

On Thursday, a user on the X social network reported that an infostealer-type malware had been detected on the brand's site. This type of software is designed to steal victims' personal data, logins, and passwords. Cybersecurity researchers later analyzed the malicious code and confirmed the threat.

Currently, the Based Apparel site is down, and company representatives have not commented on the situation. TechCrunch attempted to contact Patel via a Gmail address associated with him, but no response has been received yet.

This incident comes during a difficult week for security regarding business projects linked to the MAGA movement. On Friday, Donald Trump's mobile provider and the manufacturer of Trump Mobile confirmed that customers' personal data, including names, email addresses, and phone numbers, had been left exposed.

The data breach was officially acknowledged days after researchers warned two YouTubers who had purchased Trump Mobile phones. Cybersecurity experts are urging users to avoid suspicious sites and to be vigilant about protecting their personal information.
